Coroner's Inquests
  • Attendance and representation
  • Gathering of additional information
  • Witness Questioning

The purpose of the inquest is to enquire into the identity of the deceased, where, when and how he or she came to their death. This involves enquiring into more than just the medical cause of death and often involves a wider examination of the circumstances of the death, limited to answering 'how' the death occurred.

Proceedings at an inquest are primarily concerned with ascertaining the facts about events leading up to a death. Nevertheless, the inquest may serve in certain key respects to identify deficiencies in public systems, and how and who caused the death to occur.

MTA’s dedicated specialist team appreciate that inquest is a stressful time and aim to assist you through this.

Whether you are the family of the bereaved (Click here for more information) or the other party involved (Click here for more information) in the incident, representation is important.
